Our Regulatory Status

Brockwell Capital Limited (Brockwell) is incorporated in England and Wales as a private limited company (registered number 10784085).

We have been approved by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA reference number 791435) to act as the appointed representative of Optio Underwriting Limited, which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority in carrying out regulated activities in underwriting and binding contracts of insurance on behalf of certain insurers (Insurers).

Brockwell is an approved Lloyd’s of London (Lloyd’s) Coverholder (PIN: 114510 UAR) appointed as the agent of the Insurers. Brockwell is an underwriting agency not an insurer.

Brockwell is compliant with the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act as agent of the Insurers. Please refer to the W-8IMY form available on the Lloyd’s website (https://www.lloyds.com). This form covers all payments of premium made to any and all Lloyd’s syndicates and confirms no withholding is required.

In respect of all insurance business in the EEA, Brockwell Capital is a trading name of Optio Europe Brokers Ltd (Company Registration No. C96535) is a company authorised under the Insurance Distribution Act Cap. 487 to carry out insurance intermediary activities and is regulated by the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA, Mdina Road, Zone 1, Central Business District, Birkirkara CBD1010 Malta)

Lloyd’s Brussels

All risks in the European Economic Area (EEA) incepting after 1 January 2019 will be written on Lloyd’s Insurance Company S.A. (Lloyd’s Brussels) security. As a 9000 series coverholder, Brockwell has access to this paper and so in addition to our 9764 stamp for the UK and Rest of World (ex-EEA) risks, Brockwell utilises a new 9234 Lloyd’s Brussels stamp for all EEA risks. This does not affect coverage or our underwriting process or the validity of our insurance contracts.

Brexit Update

Lloyd’s is proposing to transfer certain EEA insurance policies to Lloyd’s Brussels. The proposed transfer will not change terms and conditions of any policy, except that Lloyd’s Brussels will become the insurer and data controller in respect of the transferred policies.
