The founders began by offering W&I insurance with risk capital provided by the prestigious Lloyd’s of London insurance market. Although we started trading in December 2017, the team’s experience providing W&I and Tax insurance solutions dates back to 2004 and we have more than 50 years of combined transactional insurance experience. Our Team has grown since 2017 and now boasts specialist underwriters with experience from working at leading international law firms, the Big 4, FTSE 100 companies, insurance companies, and insurance brokerages. We can currently offer W&I, Tax, and Contingent insurance up to a financial limit of £45m (or equivalent). We are structured as a managing general agent and Lloyd’s coverholder, which means that we enter insurance policies on behalf of our Risk Capital providers who are insurance companies. This structure allows us to offer clients the best features of a large insurance company – experience, global reach, large policy limits, and credit rating – with the agility and flexibility of a smaller business. Our Lloyd’s risk capital is rated A+ by S&P and benefits from the “central fund” which means that if a Lloyd’s insurer is unable to meet its financial obligations under a policy then Lloyd’s can meet them instead. Our Background
Brockwell is the first managing general agent to be granted 9000 series cover holder status at Lloyd’s of London – we are registered with consortium numbers 9764 (UK and Rest of World) and 9234 (EEA). This means we are embedded in the international Lloyd’s insurance market and improves our ability to arrange insurance within short timeframes and streamlines the Claims process.
